Introduction: Numerous empirical studies suggest that specific psychological factors influence the frequency and severity of sport injuries. <br />Method: The aim of present study was to examine the relationship between fundamental psychological skills, psycho-somatic skills, cognitive skills and incidence of injuries in football players of Tehran premier league. 108 players from four teams of Iran premier league participated in the study. Research data was collected by injury report form and Ottawa mental skills assessment tool-3. Pearson correlation test at significant level of 95% were used for analyzing the data. <br />Result: Results indicated that 89.5% of players experienced at least one injury during one season which 90.7 % of them resulted in 1-3 days missing of match or training. The findings also indicated that in football players of premier league there is inverse and significant relationship between psychological skills (p=0/0001) and its subdivisions including fundamental psychological skills (p=0/006), psycho-somatic skills (p=0/0001), cognitive skills (p=0/0001) and incidence of sport injuries. <br />Conclusion: The findings of present study show that having high levels of psychological skills helps premier league players to handle stressful situations in sports through enhancing self-confidence and other psychological factors confronting harmful psychological factors such as stress and anxiety and lead to decrease in injury incidence. Thus officials, coaches, physicians and sport psychologists are recommended to educate essential psychological skills.

The purpose of this study was the comparison of severity of Knee Osteoarthritis and pain, movement difficulties and quality of life in the veteran endurance runners and non-athletes. 26 men were purposeful selected for this study and they was placed in the two groups (every group = 13 subjects). The recognition of injury with the conforming of clinical symptoms was done by a clinical orthopedic doctor through clinical diagnostic criteria of the American College of Radiology and clinical assessment was done by pain index and Lequesne's functional for knee osteoarthritis. Then, the world-known Knee injuries and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) questionnaire was used for the measurement of data collection. The independent t was used for the analysis of data (P < 0/05). There was no significant difference between the veteran endurance runners and non-athletes, despite of the higher mean of severity of knee osteoarthritis with 5/5% (P = 0/86), the severity of knee pain with 4/69% (P =0/40), the rate of difficulty in doing of daily activities with 3/52% (P =0/83), the rate of difficulty in doing of sport – recreational activities with 10/35% (P = 0/97) and the quality of life with 3/82% (P = 0/48) that it indicates the worse conditions in the veteran endurance runners than non-athletes. Therefore, we can concluded that running in championship level and endurance running does not increase dramatically the risk of knee osteoarthritis and problems related to it in the veteran endurance runners in the comparison of non-athletes.

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of trunk massage on heart rate of female rowers in serial activities. For this purpose, ten female (19.2±1.2 yrs) were sailing the 200 meters long lake, two sessions in 3 sets. At 15-minute rest intervals between series, they have used recovery with or without massage in each session. ANOVA Results showed that unlike to recovery without massage which has no effects on sets' heart rates, recovery with massage caused a significant reduction of before performance heart rate in 2th (84.8±3.3) and 3th series (84.5±6.8) relative to first set (92.2± 8.4) and after performance heart rate in 3th set (101.8±7.8) relative to 2th set (109.8±13.7). These findings can indicate that massage reduces heart rate in serial activities, although its volume and intensity should be varied due to the density of exercise pressures.

The purpose of this study was the effect of functional fatigue dynamic balance in girl students with different plantar arch. To measure the subjects' foot arch was used the navicular drop test. Then The 75 students who were selected at random and targeted in three groups twenty five people 1- Group with normal foot arch 2- Group with flat foot arch 3- Group with cavus foot arch were placed. Pre-test SEBT, fatigue protocol (20 minutes activity in 7 stations) and pos-test SEBT Was performed. To determine quantity of fatigue was used Borg (RPE) scale effort of perception before the first station starts, End of the third station and Just after finishing seventh station. The data is analyzed in significance level .05 by the use of Spss17 software and dependent t test, One-way ANOVA and Scheffe's post hoc test. The results showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores dynamic balance in all three groups (P=0.004). Scheffe's post hoc test showed that there is a significant difference between the mean difference between pre-test and post-test scores in the balance Group of normal foot arch with Group of flat foot arch and Group of cavus foot arch (P<0.05). Due to the significant reduction in the balance of subjects with abnormal arch, so the correct of abnormality foot arch and use of appropriate training courses to improve their physical fitness is recommended.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two months of resistive and balance training on the balance of children with diplegic cerebral palsy. The study was performed on three boys with cerebral palsy with a mean age of 6/5.In this study, single subject research method with A-B plan is used. So that after locating the baseline, the intervention began and after 24 sessions of individual intervention, strength and balance exercises were presented to participants subjects and all three participants subjects one month after the end of the intervention were followed by track test for 2 consecutive weeks. Balance was measured by test sheet. based on variables of descriptive statistics and Visual analysis of the data chart, For all three participants in balance (100%PND for all participants) the intervention was effective, and the balance after the end of the intervention phase has improved in comparison to the base phase, but a month after the end of the intervention phase the process has been relatively stable. Present study results showed that strength and balance exercises can improve balance in individuals with cerebral palsies.

the purpose of this study is to compare the peak vertical ground reaction forces and leg muscle activityduring single leg drop landing between men with genu varum deformity and normal knee from three heights.22 male students in physical education and sport science participated in this research subjects were 10 people with genu varum deformity and 12 with normal knee.Genuvarum deformity was measured and recorded by a caliper.Subjects performed single-leg landing dropping from three height 0.2 , 0.4,0.6 m onto a force platform. Statistical analysis of data was performed via matlab version R2009a, spss and Univariate analysis of variance test(pNo significant difference was found in the peak vertical ground reaction during metatarsalcontact(P>0/05). However the peak vertical ground reaction force in calcaneus contact has significance difference (P <0/05).plantarflexors between groups had not significantly different precontact (p>0/05) but postcontact, medialisgastrucnemius had significant difference between two groups (p<0/05) and also each of the three variables were significantly different at three different heights(p<0/05). The higher rate of injury and osteoarthritis risk in people with genu varum in respect to normal ones might be due to higher ground reaction forces to the extremity during landing.

Background : the surgery of breast cancer, like any other surgery, may bring about some problems and complications, which the knowledge of these problems may be an effective way for prevention of or dealing with the complications. The motor and sensory impairment in the upper limb of the surgery side necessitates the utilization of the rehabilitation methods. The main purpose of this research is to show the effect of three methods of exercise Pilates, yoga and active commons on range of motion and edema of upper limb in the females suffering from breast cancer after going through surgery. <br />Methods: this quasi- experimental study was conducted on 38 patients randomly chosen among the patients referring to Cancer Institute. The designed exercise included 5 "Mat Pilates" moves for pilates group and 5 "asana yoga" moves for yoga group which were done for 15 sessions until the patient reached fatigue borderlines. Meantime, the control group was busy doing active exercises common in physiotherapy center. The range of motion and edema of upper limb was measured before and after applying the designed exercise. For describing the data, the mean and standard deviation, and for inferential analysis, the correlated T-tests and one way analysis of variance were used in level of significance of 5%, to compare the variants before and after applying the designed exercise. <br />Results: the results, showed a significant difference between the flexion, extension, and internal & external rotation of shoulder, flexion & extension of elbow, flexion, extension, supination deviation and pronation deviation of the wrist and forearm before and after experiment in Pilates and yoga groups. While in the control group, flexion, extension, internal & external rotation of shoulder, flexion & extension of elbow, and flexion of wrist showed a significant difference before and after the experiment.
